The KNX emerged from the EIB (European Installation BUS). The beginnings go back to mid 1980s. This BUS is standardized and devices are tested and approved by association laboratories, which in some cases also affect the price of the devices and the system. The BUS devices have their own intelligence. Central logic and application modules as well as web services complement the system range. A special software tool for parameterization and commissioning is required. Even the installers should be KNX certified. I use this system as a master BUS because the KNX certification of the devices and the wired transmission assure the highest security in all areas.
